Missing chassis from VCDS Lite

Hi - first post, so please be gentle

I've had VCDS Lite (3rd party cheapo cable) for a while, but just tried using with Windows 7 for first time. I've got it connected after a bit of tinkering. My chassis type (Leon 1P for 57 reg FR petrol DSG) isn't listed and neither are any of the Golf Mk 5 chassis cars. I'm sure it was when I used it before. Tried updating to version 1.2 but not there either. I've tried with the Leon 1 and Golf 4 chassis types and they only pick up the DSG controller. I've reason to think that there is a problem with the ECU anyway - my friendly local specialist had a quick look yesterday - but I want to run through the checks before I go to the dealer or send it off to ECU doctor.

Any suggestions please?

VCDS-Lite does not support MK5 platforms. These require a CAN connection to perform diagnostics. VCDS-Lite does not support CAN.

That'll be it then. Thanks for taking the time to reply. Time to order a proper VCDS - just been quoted £91 + VAT for the first hour at the SEAT dealer
