Mk seat

Hi people... i have just had my 10k mile service this morning with MK SEAT and it was really good!

They quoted £177 and only charged me £160 all in. They were even decent enough to run through the service job and what they did etc... Cleaned the car both inside and out with no extra cost. Customer service was excellent. Can't fault them!

Took me a while to decide which SEAT Dealer to use because there are a few threads on here slating Northampton, Bedford, Leicester, so as an ex-VAG employee, decided to close to home (HQ) in MK.

In the end came good, i suppose

Last year i went into MK Seat to change up for a better car, at first the salemans was really helpful and gave me a good deal matching the exact spec of car which i gave, or so i thought,

He moved me on to the 1.4 sportrider, stating it had all the kit i wanted including the trip computer.

He had promised faithfully that if it was ordered from the factory it was possible to get the computer fitted on the car. I believed him. Delivery day came, did the hand over, no trip computer. Now it may not seem like a big thing, but i just started doing longer distance and in the line of work im in, i needed to keep a more accurate record than the dashboard milometer.

Now one thing i should mention was he had an FR TDi behind him which i didnt no was an FR ( i didnt no any different at the time) so i was under the impretion is was getting an FR look alike with the Lupus alloys white dials etc.

The salesman persistantly told that the computer in perticular was on the car and actually got very aggressive when it came to the handover as i refused to take the car as it was nothing like the way it was described. He even stated that if i didnt sign it i wouldnt have a car as i've already handed over my old one. That was nothing short of disgraceful and bully boy tactics.

Needless say i had to speak to his boss Kelvin who i have to admitt solved the issue. He gave me the Sport 100 petrol £20p/m cheaper than agreed and a load of free accessories because of the way his salesman (glen) had been.

Even tho i am due 50% off servicing with them as i bought the car from i still wouldnt trust them but then again considering my experiances with Motorvouge i'm rapdily running out of options.

9/10 for Kelvin
0/10 for Glen.

Considering its the dealer by the H/O i would have expected ALOT better.

mmm, can you trust any of the salesman though? When i bought my Cupra, he didnt have a clue about the car then said to me that as the customer i should know more!?!? (this wasnt at MK).

I fortunately have only dealt with the aftersales team and had a good service.

If you go to Northampton, let us know how you get on as they were quoting a lot cheaper and of course im local to Northampto,so would be good to hear about them.

True about the dealer being closer to H/O but it's more down to the area manager assigned to them. Also the dealer will receive their bonus on more than car sales, namely aftersales and servicing. (couldnt tell you how much though ;))

But that's a key point for anyone on here wanting aftersales... "all dealers are paid a bonus for hitting tagrets (not all tangible). Expect a good level of service or report them because they are measured and paid on this!!!"

Motorvogue Vs MK Seat

Simonc1979,
I think going by general rep, i'll give MK SEAT another shot, in the end they did sort me out in the end and going by general rep (and from what you've said) the aftersales is alot better. I think they deserve a 2nd shot.

In terms to northampton, forget it mate, their aftersales is nothing short of appauling, and going by the thread they are notorious for it. I would post the link but im a lil to wet behind the ears for now and not enough post's lol [B)])

Im trying another few dealers, Marshalls of cambridge is the nearest to work other than MK (i work in bedford) or even leicester as its 20mins from home. I'll keep you posted if you like.

just had a few repairs done on the car and i have to say si, your where right the aftersales are allot better, They did a full walk around of the car, pick up every fault with the it that could be fixed under warrenty (even stuff that i missed) and fixed them, courtesy car free of charge (unlike motorvogue that charge £12 for it) even chucked me in an FR keyring and alloy wheel refurber 1/2 price. Good Stuff!!

I have to say my impression of Seat MK was pretty poor as they didn't know much about the cars and the questions I was asking and hadn't even heard of the Exeo! They hadn't a clue when they were getting the new Ibiza cupra in or any of the specs...

I've had a few dealings with their parts manager who at first looked like I was disturbing him and couldn't be bothered to talk to me, but as I've been there a few times (mainly to pick up new LCR splitters!) they warm to you and likewise I guess. I believe the parts manager has changed now to a younger chap who is a bit more enthusiastic and much more helpful!

id agree with that considering my first meeting with them stitching me up on a sportrider, i wouldnt buy a car from them again even if they where the only SEAT garage around, id rather import, but the head of aftersales has been their 6 weeks apprently, genuinely helpful gave me a lift to and from town and the young guy does seem to give :censored: which makes a pleasent change in comparison to some dealers.

Providing they sorted out the sales side of the dealer this could be a could stealer but as it was said before, you cant trust any salesman.

Haha, again this is their lack of sales knowledge, and come on who has heard of the Exeo... they might as well just called it an A4.

Well to follow up on MK SEAT, the other day funnily enough, they gave me a call to hear of my experience there and how i found their service. So again, i was impressed.
