Hi all..
Just brought a set of front pads supposedly for a LCR..but found there the wrong part..
Is there more than 1 type of pad for a seat leon cupra R?

The brembo brake pads ive been sent are part code p85 045...
And it says its for many other VAGs A3,TT,Ibiza,octavia,Beetle,passat vento..
..But obviously none of these have cupra R calipers..(front)

Any help would be great.

According to my mate at Kwit fit the pads for the LCR are the sane as the ones on the Range Rover sport.

The ones you have bought then brought are probably for non brembo LCRS which are European spec-as Brembos are an option and not standard like they are here.

yes.

as i understand it 17" alloys are also standard on the continent, (different countries may vary)
The 18" being part of the Brembo option.. which of course was standard in the UK.

However i dont know what the brake setup is on a non-brembo LCR.. with many sellers selling the cupra set up as cupra R.

Of course, its also possible they just made a mistake :)

Two possible factory-fit brake setups at the front of an LCR.

FN3 calipers and 312mm discs, the same as fitted to the Cupra
Big bright red Brembo calipers with four pots and 323 mm discs

Cars for the UK had the Brembo fit as standard, I believe. It's pretty easy to determine which type you have, though. Do the calipers have Brembo written on them, are they or were they red, and are they longer than others, containing two pistons one above the other?

Also the pads, if there's a photo that isn't just a stock "for illustration only", will have holes for the guide pins on LCR pads, and lugs for 'Cupra'-spec pads

The LCR Brembos have the same pads as the Renaultsport Clio/Megane Brembos ...I think (regardless, there should only be one part number for them if they are)

Thanks all for your help..
Yes mine are proper bembos..

Just i brought a set of pads off the bay and they stated
"SEAT LEON 1.8 T CUPRA R 03-06 FRONT BREMBO BRAKE PADS P85045"

I thought all LCRs had brembo brakes up front..that why ive brought them..
Only to discover that they have lugs on them..

These? Won't fit. They are Brembo pads but they fit the Teves FN3 calipers, for the "standard" Cupra setup

These: right. They are Brembo pads for the Brembo calipers that were optional in most places, but were supplied as standard on the UK LCR's

You can buy Brembo pads to fit any of the calipers to be found on a Leon.

Yes thats the ones ive brought in the first link..
It clearly states they are for a "SEAT LEON 1.8 T CUPRA R 03-06"
So obviously not for an "R" but a normal cupra..

Will let you know how i get on in returning them...

The Cupra R's came with the Teves fit as standard and the Brembo calipers as an option everywhere but the UK, I believe. So there is nothing strictly incorrect about the advert, and they put in lots of weasel-words about you having to make sure you've got the right part numbers.
