I've recently brought a seat leon 2.0 140.

it has a decat and sports exhaust system on it (which is starting to annoy me with the howling)

ive noticed that driving around town in 30/40mph zones driving light footed barely going above 2.5k with gentle throttle im only achieving 32/34 mpg. car has recently been serviced 4000 miles ago. has had a new EGR valve as there was a fault with it and has had millers ran through it for 2 full tanks now.

Im wondering if this stupid exhaust is the cause of my problem? like i say where the normal cat would be it just has a huge cat shaped silencer.

Even on a run im only getting 46/48 at 65mph when it should in reality reach 52-54

It's horrible looking at an empty tank after 390 miles from full after driving light footed i'd hate to think what it would read if i actually DROVE the car lol...

Argh!

I've owned both the pd140 and pd170, the 140 was better on fuel although I can't remember true figures, my 170 does about 470-500 miles to a tank depending on how I drive, which isn't always light footed...
You should be getting more out of a tank than that, have you noticed any leaks under the car? I doubt the exhaust would make a difference to be honest.

not noticed any leaks at all, the turbo does sound wooshy inside the car and when i accelerate hard as it takes off i hear the turbo dump as if i've let off the throttle but throttle is wide open?

Going to get it on VAGCOM and see what the readings are. i really don't know whats going on with it though
