I live in the sticks around EA so i've stuck them on for the winter months to try keep some of the cr*p off the side of it! they will be coming off when the summer is back :)

My LCR is stone chipped to the max down the side of my car.
It looks like some has taken a grit blaster to it

Maybe they have....!

Can't see it though as I don't think that there's hardly a chip down the side of the Leon.

Your case - very soft compound tyres and gravel traps? High mileage? Soft black paint?

Its not really been something owners have moaned about on here afaik. Still must be upsetting if your car's suffering from it.

I do often have a 'spirited' drive in the back roads.
If you look at where your tyres are in relation to your bodywork you will see that between the lower sill, the wheel arch and the front doors. there is a direct line to the wheels.
Any a small stones that are picked up by the side of the tyres get flung down the side of the car.
I can take a picture of the side of mine if you want?

Haven't really noticed any problems with stone chips down there or along the side so think they are pretty pointless imo

All mine are in front of the wheels :(

Same with me. My front bumper and bonnet is chipped halfway to hell, but I can't find any on the sides. And relatively speaking I live in the sticks (not a city anyway) and drive down many country lanes all the time.

Might be worth it when the gritters come out though, or just keep it in the garage .

I've heard (from another forum) that the roads on the other side of the border are worse than our already sub standard tarmac. Could that be part of the answer to your woes?

I quote the Scottish members in this forum moaning about tyre wear due to their perceived poor standard of road.

Do members in this forum (north of the border) back up their moaning and the standard of Scottish tarmac? Answers on a postcard please.

Boomhauer in an early black LCR is not suffering from the same problems as you are.

well if im honest mine will be going on for looks:redface:

robdon`s stick out more and it makes the car look wider, more aggressive. i think black flaps on a yellow car will look good.

I've seen alot of bad road in Cornwall, Norwich, Liverpool etc
I wouldn't say our roads are really bad.
Try Canada, now thats bad roads

cheers guys has anyone got pics of the evo 5 or 6 ones fitted so i can compare universal one to the evo one to see what im going to go for. cheers

i think evo5&6 ones are rally slag style ones as on robdons car. i might be going down a similar route at some point.

Norwich is bad full stop. (Sorry I'm a Suffolk boy and hate anything north of the river Waveney)

I'll be getting some mud flaps for my car because if the car is spotless and the flaps have the white SEAT S they look annoyingly good

just wondering if the evo mudflaps did actually fit right? Hopefully will be buying some next month.
