Hey guys. So ive just fitted a aftermarket radio in my mk1 leon but the radio signal is that bad it keeps going off. Can a booster or something be added to get a clear signal or is it new aerial time? Id rather not disturb the roof lining if i can help it. Cheers guys :)

What size is your aerial? I have a stubby one on mine (for the looks :D) and I regularly loose reception.

99% of the time I listen to CDs/iPhone though.

I've got the standard SEAT aerial, that has a stock booster built into the base of the aerial. They are powered by the stock head unit, so when you change head units you lose that power to the aerial. Boosters behind the dash don't seem to be strong enough

Cheers guys. Its the little stubby aerial. Cant you run a 12v feed to the aerial base to get the booster to work again? How about changing the whole aerial from a non seat car? That work? :)

I had thought about running a live to the base, but haven't got as far as removing headlining to look at it. People have changed the whole aerial, but I don't know how successful that was

I think ill replace the whole aerial from another car. Should be able to pick one up at the breakers yard cheap. ;)

Let us know how it goes. I will be interested to know how easy it is to change over and if it improves it all

Will do frodo. Shouldnt be to hard. Remove the trim and seal on the hatch and unbolt it. Hopefully lol

When I had a Leon I had the same issues, went to a scrappy and got a VW bee sting from a polo and it fixed the issue. When I had a look at the seat one it was totally corroded. Never had another issue.
