Wot induction kit do you have?

Not sure why you would need heat wrap and secondly why you would need a heat shield. IF the manufacturer thinks you need as heat shield (like the ITG kit) they would supply one with the kit.

Tell us more what you are trying to achieve and what kit you currently have

i got given the pipercross induction kit which came with no heatshield, and my IATs went through the roof, then to top it off it lost 16g/s over the stock air intake, which amused me considering the ITG i had gained me 17g/s over stock. (both at stage 1)

if you reduce the temp of the pipework, the IATs will also reduce, so it can nly be a good thing IMO. just dont do it at the expense of the looks.. nothing worse than seeing an engine bay covered in bako foil

I am thinking of heat wrapping the twintake pipes as it does get pretty hot after a drive...not sure if i can be bothered to do it though (so much effort for the winter season coming...)

I would think the twintake has some sort of heat resistant coating...no ?

Or it could just be black paint....Not sure...

I make my own handmade heat-shields (a slightly modified version of Evoms' heat-shield) out of 2mm thick aluminum. Some like them plain aluminum and others black painted with heat resistant spray. The paint is purely cosmetic and serves no other purpose than to please the eye. If you like I can make one and post it to you or I can send you my schematic with dimensions etc to make your own.

bro i will make you a heat shield i have a metal workshop in hertfordshire ,but i dont use 2ml as it is to thin it heats up near the screws goes out of shape and always come loose ,the ones i make are 5ml thick and are polished ally,i think its not good to put paint on area of extreme heat plain ally is the best .

To be honest I've been making these shields for more than a year to friends and for my car and never had such problems like those you mention. Even painted ones never had problems. I've had this shield on my car for over a year and nothing happened. Evoms' shield is 2mm aluminum
