Need Sum Help Please!

im having a lot of trouble with the paint on my silver cupra! both the front and back bumpers and the front wings have gone a patchy shade of silver! to start i thought it may have been a respray so i contacted the 2 people that owned the car b4 me and they both told me that they had no body work done to the car what so ever!

i took the car to my local dealer and a saleman tried to flog me off saying that it had been resprayed and that you vould clearly see masking marks on the paint!

i then showed my car and suspect areas of paint and they have both siad that it hasnt been resprayed, one of them said that it looked like a patchy undercoat!


what i need to know now is if any1 knows who would be the best person at Seat to contact about the paint.

also i need to know how long the paint warranty lasts? the car is late 2001!


any 1 else managed to get a respray out of seat?

Did you have a hpi i check on it?

no coz an hpi check will only tell u if the car has been written off then reparied, it wont tell u if it has been dinked!

yeah there are catagories cat c heavey damage eg chassis damage cat d light damage e.g dent broken window etc the only problem is if he has paid for the work to be done of books it wont be recorded.
but it is also good to do a check when buyin because they check the milage previous owners, if its been damaged stolen and recovered or has outstanding finance on it there are also a few more things but they are the main ones,
also this is the good bit if your car comes up clear on the hpi and there is a problem found they havent noted you are usually coverd up to about 20k with the hpi insurance for them getting it wrong...

the car is well out of warranty.. they have a 5 year anti corossion warranty AFAIK... which fixes rust etc

seats are renowned for the crap paint work and as you say yours looks like its fading well your not the only one i have a yellow cupra and my wing looks a shade af yellowy green in some shades of light

Wazo i know what u mean its **** having patchy bits aint it! im still going to press on and see if seat r willing to respray the bumpers at least!

i think its the 6 year anti corossion warranty they are talking about

yes but thats anti corrosion not paint fade youll be lucky to get a touch up out of them let alone a respray

I did get my roof resprayed but mines only an 05. That was done under warranty.
