New FK Supension!

Hi all,

I'd appreciate some opinions!

My 99 mk2 8v has now done 73000 miles! At this mileage how much life would it be fair to say is left in the standard shocks/springs! I've never really been happy the way the car handles on undulating roads or under braking!

I've just purchased a NEW FK Hightec Suspension Kit at well under the RRP! I presume this would be an improvement over standard (for now!!) and worth the effort to fit? Along with new top mounts I would also look at upgrading the wishbone bushes (LCR as roly's done) and at a later date the anti roll bars.

With the top mounts - are standard best or should I look at an alternative

If you going to change the wishbone mounts might as well get the polyflex one's...... you can get 2 wishbones with the bushes from ebay for £80, search for Mk2 Golf wishbones.

And the arb, best money you can spend to improve handling!

And for the top mounts just usse standard, I haven't come across any uprated ones but I didn't look under Mk2 Golf for them.

The lower arms are different on the Mk3 and so are the drop links I think..... plus they are no bigger than the mk2. Think the Mk2 is either 19 or 20mm

21mm arnt they? drop links have to be the offset ones i believe too

20VT front arb 23mm taper to 20mm IIRC. Do it with a rear arb too.

Got my new wishbones today! x 2 genuine VAG for £24!

Anyone an idea which drop links I'd use for the mk3 ARB?
