New lcr owner here :) picker her up A couple of days ago, red 2003 210 model with 66k on the clock and service history.

Already had some bits done to her like a stainless steel cat back( unsure the brand though) A pipercross enclosed air filter, polybushed in places( need to have a look and see exactly where?), drilled and grooved brakes, although the rear discs havnt cleared up yet as the car was stood before I got her.

Some cosmetic things like tints, the roof and mirrors have had a carbon wrap, not the best wrap ever. And the headlights have a tint film on. I'm in two minds about said wrap and healight tint atm. also the wheels have been sprayed anthracite which I think like pretty nice :)

It's had a new clutch flywheel cambelt and water pump at 58k although I don't think it's had a oil and flitler changed for a while so going to get that done as well as changing the pick up pipe just to be on the safe side! Wanting to get the car pretty healthy before I extract more power! Haha!

That's enough waffling for now. Hopefully get post count up soon and get pics up!

Thanks, Sam

You need some pics up mate but you need 15 posts first!!

Sounds like an awesome car!! Personally I hate wrapped roofs and other bits just takes the fun away from a good detail in my eyes but each to there own!!!

I'm on the fence with the wrapped parts. Sometimes I thinks it's Bit chavvy and such but then I look at her and think, yeah it's looks ok. Ideally I'm wanting a nice clean look so possibly they shall come off. I think ill be removing the headlight tints though.

Got a metallic rattle sound currently which I can't seem to pin point. Doesn't always do it, only whilist stationary or going slow/small load on the car. I'm sure it's just a head shield somewhere.

Sam.

Yeah that flyeye crap needs to come off but if you like the other bits keep them on!!!

The rattle could just be a heat shield my cats doing this at the moment but only when it from a cold start will sort it when I can!!!

Ahh yeah they've just tinted them more!!! Easily removed with a heat gun or hair dryer that way it won't leave all the glue on your headlights

Take it for a spirited drive get the feel of it you'll be surprised how well they handle for a big car!! Quick steering turbo kicking in straight away it's awesome just be sensible an Obay the road laws lol

My last turbo car was a r33 skyline gtst! so a bit of a barge haha! Yeah I've felt the turbo spool up pretty quick when giving a bit of throttle and the steering feels brilliant. Hoping to eventually get some track time done so will be improving the chassis handling etc. I'm itching to get started on her.

I'd love a skyline but 2 small kids I've no chance not till there a little bit older anyway!!! Get it remapped if your feeling flush get a 3" down pipe and intercooler and go for a remap maybe see 260-280bhp depending on the health of your engine

It was great fun while I had it but costly and not great as a daily. Didn't half shift though. that's basically what I'm planning! But With the addition of a larger tip and a 007p.

Getting it booked in soon for A oil and filter change as well as the pick up pipe just as a precaution and a general health check and shall go from there.

Getting a bit of turbo chatter/flutter so not sure if I have a leak or the standard dv is on way out? unless a bit of chatter is normal with these engines. Not too clued up with vag cars yet!

How're you finding the upkeep so far. I've just brought one with a few issues i need to sort (typical oil pickup bullcr*p) just wondering how you've found the upkeep.

recommendations on improvements grreatly appreciated!:D

Welcome to the gang mate. I've had mine 4 years in Jan and still love it. Only problem I had was 2 coil packs fail so replaced all 4. I brought mine on 62k and it's done 78k now. Just brought oil pick up pipe and service bits and having that done in June along with sfs 3 inch Tip then I've just gotta get front mount downpipe and decat and can go stage 2.

Hey bud, mines in for a oil and filter change as well as the pick up pipe today!

Overall I'm finding it ok not been too bad on fuel but I havnt been booting it.not untill I've got it 100% healthy.

Improvements wise a good open filter and heatsheild, a oversized tip, n249 valve bypass and making sure all pipes etc are in good nick are ideal.

Thanks bud! Yeah mines getting the pick up pipe done now. One upgrade I'm thinking is 2.0tfsi coil packs and adaptors eventually. I'm hoping to go stage two with mine. But before I can do any tuning I'm getting bits and pieces right first.

Noticed a n249 vacuum pipe unconnected from the inlet manifold the over day, basically the connection has snapped on the inlet so got a new one of them coming and might by pass the n249 while I'm there.

Just can't wait to push it :p

hey!

I'm the same, not even had the chance to drive mine yet due to work. Last time i drove it is when my sister owned it and its developed every problem going since! got to have everything off and clean out, make sure pipes are connected properly and going to fasten everything i can.
Got to replace some of the PCV pipes and dont really want to bother doing the delete until ive got it all working nicely (someone seems to have snapped part of the T-piece and the pipe going upwards from there and replaced it with a bit of hozeloc, great huh!)

its got an open filter on it, just needs the heatshield, which judging by the prices on ebay i may end up making!

Got the car for an absolute steal anyway so i dont mind spending a few quid fixing her up. needa alot of tidying so may end up posting a thread on here at some point with some pics of before and after, hozeloc and all!

R1tchie on here made my heats held mate he might still be able to make one awesome quality had mine powdercoated.
