Hi all,

First off gents...and ladies this is a dogs danglies of a forum and has been a great source of help for me buying my new car.
I previously had an Audi A3 3.2 Sline DSG from new for a couple of years and got rid of that for my new Cupra K1 which I picked up 13 days ago (I must be one of the first !!!), the car is in Luna Grey with Xenons and conv pack and I have to say I absolutely love it to pieces !!!!! :D
I know there has been a lot of slating of the K1 but when you see it in the metal so to speak I personally think it looks absolutely awesome and compliments the Cupra completely. I know people say that you can get any Leon with the Aero kit but who cares !!! this is a Cupra with the kit and with the centre exhaust which does actually look fantastic (even has seat sport engraved on it) you cant go wrong, it really has been turning a hell of a lot of heads. And driving it !!!! well ... I have been treating the little lady very very very conservatively for the first 1500 miles which I have just done as of yesterday (few trips to Scotland !!) and I think as of today I might start to spank the bottom quite a lot, I have only taken any gear up to 4.5k revs and I already think the engine and exhaust sound great !!!, way way better than I thought and I came from a V6 as well.
I really am loving the car and still feel very very happy every time I get in it !!!, feel like i am in a proper sports hatch !!!!!
Well I am gonna get the missus cleaned today.... and the car and will post pics later for your viewing pleasure

The CUPRA rocks !!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Glad you are enjoying it bud. They are great cars to drive. If you fancy a cat back exhaust for much cheapness, you should put it in to the likes of Milltek and be the first to have one fitted - they will give you a deal with the car being the first to have it. ;)

nice 1, cant wait for the pics.
the k1 is an aquired taste, and not totally to mine as yet.
people comment on the central exhaust being a vxr rip off. well thats probably the one feature i like and its been done by better manufacturers than vauxhall for a number of years, like this 10 year old motor i spotted yesterday.
does it sound any different to a standard cupra?

do you think that milltek will bother with it being 'limited', therefore a low runner?

thanks for your comments fellas, with regards to sounding different than a normal cupra I really don't know, I only had a short test drive of a normal one and didnt really notice the sound, however the exhaust on the K1 does have 'Seat Sport' engrave on the top of it so don't know whether it is different or louder ???? does sound great though !!!!
That is some Lambo !!!!!!!!

Maybe, or maybe not. One thing is for sure, they wont be quick to pick up on it. Maybe piper will though.

K1 not to my taste either, but under the fancy dress is a great car :D

Do you reckon that 1500 miles is enough to start giving it some or should I still be gentle ???? it really has been hard driving like an old gimmer for the last 2 weeks

Best thing to do is to get it to normal temperature, and let rip, straight from the fore court.

yee haaaaa !!!!!! those pirelli P0's are going to see some action later then !!!!

Nice choice

i really like the K1 after seeing it in the flesh

wasn't so sure before that thou

I've just ordered the K1. I'm impressed with your thoughts coming from the V6 Audi and all that.
12 weeks wait for me, saw one in Luna at Bury dealers yesterday, looked awesome.
Enjoy and post some snaps so we can all drool.

Roll on June!

The Lambo's not 10 years old is it? Surely it's just a personal registration?

Never come accross a Luna Grey Cupra (nevermind a K1) before, will keep an eye out for you on the road as you must live somewhere not too distance from me.

As I'm sure Chris will vouch for, I showed some P Zero's some action once on a Cupra. A bit too much action really...

dont want to wee on anyones bonfire but, i popped into the stealers today (accessory fix) and was told that there is definitely going to be a K2 cupra out before the leon face lift (whenever that is), and it is definitely not going to be aero kit based!

A face lift would be due for the Leon sometime this year. Assuming SEAT follow the complete new model every 6 year and a mid-life facelift every 3 that most manufacturers do.

Oh well, whatever you buy, a newer version is always around the corner...
