Hi all.

Currently sat in a lay-by, maiden long voyage has not gone well and waiting for a recovery truck.

Filled the car up last night (definitely unleaded!) all fine until 60 miles into journey and error messages attached. Could still drive but limited power and jerky on the ICE side.

Pulled in and shut everything down, locked the car etc, started up and all clear, pulled away fine then 2 miles later the same thing…

Limited power and didn’t want to do more damage so pulled in and called assistance. Code read and sit all sorts and apparently fuel pressure issue on the data, has anyone seen/had this?!

Anyway advised not to drive car and now waiting for recovery, 300 miles on the clock, not great!!

Thoughts or tips/ advice welcome!

Sorry not had similar issues but these cars are VW based and are having nightmares with the electronics in all forms.

Hope you get sorted asap, let us know what the problem was.

I had the "Error: Drive System" on mine, although mine isn't a hybrid, after about 300 miles as well, but it occurred on first start up one morning before the engine was even started. I turned the ignition off and back on and it disappeared and thankfully has never came back.

I called my Cupra dealer after it happened, and she spoke with their master tech who said that it likely wouldn't have been logged as it disappeared and to just keep and eye on it and if it returned to either get it booked it with them or contact Cupra Assist, as these cars are so new and have "teething gremlins".

Jeese whole new gearboxes?!

The excellent Seat/Cupra experience continues having rung the dealership 3 times today for an update and being told I’d be called back… nothing!

Zero idea of what’s gone wrong with the car or how long it will be, pretty shocking service, plus the fact it’s brand new and gone wrong in the first place!

Have been fitting New gearboxes in the formentor hybrids 'and require the engine to be removed..
Oh dear:no:
I’ve been reading the formentor threads on here from the first launch video, the waiting times to get one, the technology issues and the lack of customer service with interest.
I’m not currently in the market for a new car but next year was hoping to get into a new motor.
Before launch I was really excited to see what the Formentor was all about and was really hoping it was going to be top of the list.
I personally think it’s one of nicest looking cars out there, seeing quite a few knocking about now and they do look stunning but I have been totally put off by all the problems.
I know it’s a new model and there’s always teething problems but this sounds serious for a new car.
The technology side of things is also really annoying, screens with no buttons are really not my thing and I know this isn’t unique to seat/ Cupra but I just don’t get it, especially when you’re navigating your way round one whilst driving. Why?
Looks like I’ll be looking elsewhere when the time comes to change the daily car.

Infotainment wise mines been ok and I knew what I was getting into in terms of everything through the touchscreen so I can't complain about that as it was a concious choice. If your really concerned get an extended test drive in one, I've got an ID3 as my other car so I knew what I was setting myself up for and that I can live with it (that thing was literally in beta release when I first got it a year ago!!)

I've no idea what has gone wrong mechanically/electrically to cause the drive train error still, turns out theres just a single master tech at Bristol Seat/Cupra/Skoda that is allowed to touch the car... so it;s not even been looked at since taking in on Thursday.

Poor service from them, a master tech should have made an investigation, no info from your dealer is not good, especially since there seems to be a problem elsewhere, all dealers can(I hope) access common problems online and at least have an idea.

Customer service is dreadful got an update that it’s a control unit issue and will be fixed when they can but v busy, could just be BS who knows.

Made to feel like I’d inconvenienced them by breaking down and having an issue when they are so busy.

That is a shocking response from a main dealer. This is a brand new car with such a serious issue that it can't be driven. I hope they have given you a courtesy car, and if not I'd be demanding one from them if they are "so busy" and don't know when they can fit your car in to be repaired.

Don't you just love companies where the customer is obviously considered an impediment to the smooth running of the business

Yeah shocking is the word, I know it’s just a car etc but just the general manner and how your made to feel doesn’t sit right. I’m not exactly making demands of any sort!

I’m in an enterprise hire car as the car was recovered roadside.

I’ll give the car another chance but any thing more and I’ll just park it there frankly.

Complain to either service manager or general manager if nothing happens soon, be polite but firm regarding the need for information on the repair status, if it doesn’t work, Seat customer services should hear from you.

I'm the master technician bolton cupra it would only take him 15 mins to run a guided fault finding log which will automatically be sent to seat factory then for him to start what's called a DISS report to the factory so they are aware of your complaint..

Master tech excuse me for asking but my Cupra, Leon mk4 is currently at dealers as the brake pedal clunk's intermittently on release, sods law took it in today and they can't replicate, they seem to have no idea but a few owners have it, have you seen that issue before? Cheers

I'm not familiar with that complaint but is it only with the engine running is it inside the car or outside with the handbrake on off etc.

Seems to only be when handbrake off and car running and seem to do it from cold then sometimes clears, sound is on release of pedal, even if release very softly it does it. It sounds like metal on metal. Cheers
