Hi guys,

Any idea as to what may have caused this or how to fix it, I had taken the car for a wash then noticed that both headlights has condensation in them after that in the evening I notoced that this message came on and the headlights would only go up and down but not left and right.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm no expert but i would guess water has got into the motor , i wouldn't think it was a fuse or relay if the go up and down, did you take it to a hand carwash ? There jet washes are really powerful and if they have used it too close water could easily get in to unwanted areas .
I would give it time to dry out before i worried too much it may just start working again.
Drive with your lights on for a few days that should help dry out the condensation in the headlights.
Hope this helps , good luck

Thanks mate that helps, I had left the back cover to help it dry out for about a week but no joy I will see how it goes ive also had seat look into it they say that because I changed the headlight bulbs that I may hsve broken the motor however it was working fine after I chabged the bulbs until the wash, they say its a common issue for condensation but are rulling out the fact that it could have happened after a wash which is what had happened.

which bulbs did you change ? DRL and sidelight ? I can't see how doing that would damage the motor unless you were fitting the bulbs with a hammer .
I get a little condensation in mine occasionally after washing but it usually clears pretty quick .

I've just had the headlight and inverter (for the Xenon) replaced under warranty on Leon. Water got into the light and fried the inverter so the Xenon wasn't working. After they did the work they have had problems 'coding' the Xenon lights, so currently I get the "No bend function on AFS" when I start the car. The dealer is waiting for Seat Technical at Milton Keynes to get back to them about it, so it's got to go back next week sometime.

They weren't working when the inverter wasn't damaged, but now they are, it's just the bend function which isn't working properly.

My xenons work they go down and then back up, normally when you face down they do a left and right movement then back up but it doesnt do that.

Hmmm so did they say that once they code it put it should work fine?

Did they say how this had happened or could you tell me what they said to you?

Yes as far as I'm aware, when Seat tell them what to do with the 'coding' if should be fine.

They didn't tell me exactly how it happened but I suspect because took the headlight off and replaced it along with the inverter.
