No On Board Computer

Playing with the better half's '02 Cupra yesterday, and discovered it didn't have the on board computer. Bit surprised, I thought this would have been standard fit?

Computer was standard on 03 Cupras onwards or imports prior to that.

some of the first standard uk cars had em as well

for approx the first 12 months or so

removed for cost/programming room

Is it possible to put a trip computer in to an 02 Cupra? I find them useful and quite disappointed they they did not feature in the then top of the range model!

not impossible but not really cost effective either

hi. what would fitting the on board computer envolve? new stalk and plugged in to tell the ecu it has the option? mines a 2003 tdi

No, you would need the loom from the stalk to the ecu and where ever else it may go, best bet is to find a car with it fitted in a s crap yard and take the parts you need still not guaranteed though, trial and error really.
