"No response from controller"

VCDS-Lite v1.1 (Nov 2010)

I have come to an error which reads "No response from controller", when i try to read from the 01-Engine in the Common tab in VCDS-Lite.

I do get a reading when i go to 56-Radio or 15-Airbags.

I also get readings from 01-Engine when i connect to my Seat Ibiza 1.2s 02 plate.

I have checked the settings in device manager and all is set up correctly as far as i can see.


Has anybody experienced this issue? if so, is there a work around?

Are you using a genuine cable or an eBay special? could be the cable that's not up to scratch maybe?

its from ebay, but it works on the ibiza???

Not sure then "no response from controller" would say to me that there is a fault with the comms between the car and the laptop, is the cable plugged in correctly and are you sure it's using the same com port?

it does not go in all the way, but the light lights on when plugged in to the port which would suggest that its connected. Reluctant to force it all the way as it might break some pins.

strange thing is that it queries other controllers but not the engine controler.
