i can't believe my rear number plate just fallen off! luckily car was parked and a neighbour picked it up.... and i realised that it was only stuck on by 3M tapes???
is it common dealership practice that they only stick it on and not screw it on??? im so crossed it would have been a nightmare if it fell off whilst driving on the motorway!!!!

so im suppose to screw it on myself?? would the dealership do it for u if u asked? isn't that a bit dangerous though??

Tbh I usually screw them on, but I've stuck mine on as I think it looks alot cleaner, also got a shorter number plate.

No reason why it shouldn't stay on providing the surface is cleaned properly first.

hmm ok then so if i decided to stick it back on what tape should i use and where can i get hold of some? also what do i need to clean the surface with in order to secure the plate?

and with yours screw on did u do it yourself? my plate doesnt have screw holes on.......

omg im so confused sorry....

many people dont like screws. they dont look as 'clean'.
Have a look around at other cars, many many cars dont have screws. - all of which will be held on with some sort of tape.

To clean the surfaces you want alcohol type wipes to ensure there is no dirt / grease that would reduce adhesion.
You can buy tape or pads specifically sold for this job!

How far is the dealer? why not simply visit them and ask them to do it?

yep taking it to the dealership now.... 15miles away but they will sort it out so i dont have to worry about it... thanks for the info tho x
