Good afternoon all,
I have a 2018 Leon Cupra and I noticed today there a large amount of oil or grease spitting out from the alternator pulley, I gave it a quick wipe and it is really thick and gloopy, not like the motor oil. I’ve checked the oil and it seems fine. Everything seems to be running ok but I’m not sure about driving it like this incase I create more problems, just trying to find out what the cause is before taking it to the garage, has anyone had this issue before?
Cheers.

The one way clutch mechanism in the pulley is failing, you need to replace the pulley before it completely fails or you could end up with the alternator not charging the battery.

Also, in extreme cases the alternator can become damaged.
