Hi,
my blue cupra is off to the bosyshop in a few weeks, to get a full respray same colour, and the bumpers smoothed, the lines and the strips colourcoded, rear towing eye smoothed, debadged, grille sprayed black and badge.
but i'm unsure wether to have the roof done in black then fit a black bonnett bra. or how about the bonnect and roof in black, i need a few opinions on this please. the cars sitting on polished d90s and lowered loads on coilovers.
heres a pic below of her now, any one recon it will look right. i'm currently favouring the black roof and bonnet bra and maybe a front wing vent.

Thanks Alec

If it was me, I wouldn't colourcode the bumper strips, I'd paint them and the roof black. I think it'd all tie together nicely then. Wouldn't bother with the vents.

courtesy CupraT, although his are painted an Audi grey I think

Tis your car though, so do what YOU want!

dont have the roof and bonnet done in black
if you did that it would spoil the entire look of the Cupra in my opinion, especially on polished rims

as for a bonnet bra...who you getting to make you one cos I've not seen any other than the cheap plastic whole front end cover.

vents in the wings looks decent as long as their subtle and not huge

transporter ones would look good, i think someone on here had a red cupra with transporter vents, looked good and also served a purpose i think, didnt he put his CAI down by there?

I'd agree with everything you've said apart from the black roof and bonnet. I personally don't think it will go as those two colours are at the same end of the spectrum. Might look better if it was a Yellow car, but not blue IMO

As it has been stated, Transporter vents look great if they are done properly.

I look forward to the pictures. :D

my mate has a black roof and bonnet on his cupra and it looks crap. i it has to be one or the other imo.

Black bonnet + roof (pref. carbon fibre) i like BUT not with those wheels - you'd get a clash of 'looks' (imo)

unless...

You sprayed the wheel centres black and left the polished rim...??

Always been into the euro look its a difficult one to get spot on! I think i would go with the D90's being black with polished lip and possibly the bump strips shiny black with all lines on the bumpers smoothed out and some m3 style lights on the rear:)

Get mine back sunday!!! cant wait. all done apart from my wing mirrors , waiting for my stubby so he will do them thursday and ll fit my new wheels!!

black bonnet/roof ? no for me sorry but bumper strips and smoothing i'd say ok but couple of points :

modify the fittings so you still get the bumper off (mounts under the strip)

use std black bumper strips as the paint on the cupra ones is always iffy especially if overpainted - then again if the blue black look is a must why not smooth the lines and use black bumper strips anyway - maybe even glossed smooth ?

Am going thinking of going down black roof with my cupra aswell to match my carbon bonnet wen i get it.
But id say no to your cupra as its too dark a car.
You get 9's yet? ive seen another set for sale
pm me if you want details

I cant see it looking that nice with a black roof and bonnet?? You'd definately have to change the way the rims look to make it suit. Go for the vented wing though, i know that www.coollouvres.com do it and i think it'd be quite useful wit a CAI.

Hmm having just read this post...im not sure what to do.

My roof on my Onvi Yellow Ibiza Cupra needs respraying...haven't done much enquiring into it yet but its definately gonig to happen.

My question is...do i get it resprayed the original colour, i.e onvi yellow? or black?

I have graphite grey powder coated alloys, but my bumper strips are resprayed yellow.

What you people think? Or has anyone got an onvi yellow Ibiza/Leon with a resprayed black roof?

Thanks.

OMg why does every ibiza need respraying? Black roof looks funny to me, especially if done to copy other peoples ideas, how do you sell your car with a different colour roof?

theyre hard enough to sell modified as it is, without another £1000 paint job in a different colour
