Paint Warranty?...

...do LCR's come with any kind of paint warranty? If so, what does this cover?

The reason I'm asking is cause I'm getting really wound up with the awful paint quality on my LCR (thought it was bad on my Civic Type R, this is much worse!). My car is an '05 black LCR with 19k on the clock and the bonnet/wings are absolutely battered!

If there's nothing the dealer can do, can anyone recommend any decent places in the NW to get my bonnet/wings resprayed (can't believe I'm even thinking about this on a car that's not even 2 years old!)

I know what you mean. I do quite a bit of fast motorway driving and my front bumper and front portion of my bonnet is marked with streaks that I cannot seem to remove through cleaning.

The front usually get covered in dead flies - not sure if this is attacking the paint work?! I will try getting it cleaned with a high pressure hose down the road next weekend to see if that helps remove the marks, but I am not hoping for much.

I don't think that they are stone chips, I did wonder for a while...

Maybe I should post a pic once its had a clean.

it might be worth getting it properly detailed, have a look at detailingworld and the detailing section on here, some quite dramatic results can be achieved with the right equiptment, practice and time....

be careful with those jet washes - as sometimes they can take the paint off your bumpers and the like!!!!!!! some of them are way too powerful to be used on a car!!!

what colour is the car? Its mainly red and yellow that suffer!
they have reguler polished - some of the polish are good such auto glym that can restore colour and protect it for 25 washes!

In that case I'll give it another clean by hand and then take a photo to see if you guys can work out what it is and how I can sort it out! :)

My car is a black LCR...

I absolutely cherish it (like with all my cars I've had) but the paint on the bonnet ain't doing too good, despite how well I look after it.

CRAIGLCR - Nah it's not corrosion, it's just purely stonechips all on the bonnet, bumper, wings and a bit above the windscreen :( :(

Speaking to guy at work who knows quite a lot about cars (infact he is picking up Clarkson's old Ford GT this week!), he reckons that the streaks on my front bumper and bonnet are the residue left behind by my favourite pasttime of bug-killing.

He says that using a good polish like MER should do the job. But I was wondering should I use a tar/bug remover first? Has anyone had this bloody bug problem that I seem to suffer from before!??

Here's an example of bug remover: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/...rumb_33958-33974-33995_parentcategoryrn_31407

Talking about paint, the paint on my front bumper seems to be fading. It's not due to stone chips, it just looks like there isn't enough paint on it![:@]

Well the waxing did the job - removed all of the streaks and mess left behind by the dead flies that cleaning alone couldn't remove. Very good stuff that MER wax!
