hello , i have a seat cordoba model 99-02 . has the same headlights as ibiza 99-02 . i have 2 separate bulbs h7+h1 as there are in cupra . not a single h4 .

i bought 2 lens projectors from a volvo ( h7 ) and i want to adapt them in headlights . also , i want to paint the interior of the headlight black as there are on cupra .

the headlights can be opened/detached in hot water or whit a hair dryer or else they need to be cut around to separate the glas from the projectors ?

here are some pictures . i want advices from someone who did this thing . thanks

a open headlight that was cut ( i found this image on a forum . is not mine )

and my projectors from a volvo . has h7 bulbs ( just for info ) they fit in the headlight

you can use a heatgun to heat up the glue and use a stanley knife to cut the warmed glue

I did this mod to my headlights few months ago.

I baked in oven at 100 degrees for about 10 minutes them and then opened them with screwdriver.

The second headlight was more difficult. I think that it was opened in the past and concentrated much better than originally. It needed for opening more of the heating times and higher temperature.

After that i sanded all non reflective panels and painted them black. After that new sealants and about 12-24h drying time.

Then they were ready.
And how much i paid.
20€ headligt e.a
2€ some matte black spray paint

Not so easy, but not so hard mod and it was cheap :p From Volkswagen dealership those headlights would be 180€ e.a

Yes. It took 23 minutes because it was very tight. It was that which was opened in the past and concentrated with large amounts of seal.

It takes 10 minutes if the headlight is with original sealants.

Like mine was too :p remember to remove all bulbs and light motors from lights.
And remember that reflective chromes are very wulnerable. Be careful when protecting surfaces. Don't use tape on that. I did that mistake and used some tape first :/
