Hi Guys,

My FR TDI on 57 plate is sometimes hestitant when you put the foot down on the gas (noticed- normally when the engine has warmed up).

This maybe causing it to smoke also..as i can see blue smoke when the car is stationary..could this be a PCV Valve issue? also where is the valve located on the car?

PS. By the way the car has had satge 2 remap and DPF deleted

fr tdi cut out on me

Hi guys,

Just after some suggestions. Earlier today my car cut out twice while in the lower gears namely second. After this i parked the car up and started it again with ease, it ran for about 10 seconds and cut out again....

...At this point i went into the office hoping when i come back to it it will be ok. After about 3 hours i set off to drive home after work, while driving for about 600 yards i jumped onto the motorway and 500 yards on reaching about 60 mph it cut out again. i pulled up in the hard shoulder and started it again and set off again...while driving other motorists while horning and flashing and then it cut off again....i guess it must have been smoking..

Any ideas of what it could be??

Could it be fuel injector pump?? or tubo
 
it was done by a company called More-bhp.com based in crewe...

any ideas?
 
id look at Injectors and bad mapping

I was born in Crewe, PD170 tuning isnt simple and i certainly would't let a company who specialises in all makes "in reality specialises in nothing" play with it
 
i had the injectors done on a recall by Seat.

It was giving blue smoke for a long while but not taking oil that i noticed. i changed turbo thinking it would be that, however still same. it has been driving Okish for about 6 months till today when it started cutting out on me...however, its always been smoking blue smoke and smelling of bad fumes.

could this be remap??
 
its very hard to say really, i would get it hooked upto VCDS firstly to see if there's any error codes it should store some for cutting out
 
i had VCDS doen prior to this but nothing showed up. i will get done again see if shows anything.

I was going to take to Darkside Developments to get it checked out. Have you heard of this company?
 
would it be a good idea to have it looked at from them? are they mechanics as well as a tuning company?
 
confused...head gasket seems fine...what would egr cooler fault symptoms be? would these have been stored in ecu?
 
When i removed my EGR, my car used to puff white/blue smoke on start up and drink abit of coolant, we though that might of been caused by the EGR Cooler.

Darside do mechanics aswell
 
what would you do in my situation? shall i get VCDS done first and take from there? would Darkside be able to sort it out?
 
They will be able to VCDS it for you, and look at possible causes

They are int he process of building a big turbo PD170, when i had mine they hadn't done any PD170 tuning.
 
Hi Guys, I've recently had the car plugged into a VCDS and no faults came up. I then got a reputable auto electrician to look at it and when he plugged in his machine it came up with a Camshaft sensor which i have now replaced and also a Coolant sensor as the fan came on first thing in the morning.....Will see if this has fixed the cutting out problem...fingers crossed!!

Secondly, the blue smoke from the exhaust is still there. Although I've had the injectors done on a recall, i have a feeling Seat may not have done them and it maybe this causing the problem...Any thoughts??
