PD140 Turbo Model?

Anyone know what make/model the turbo is on a PD140?

I have a feeling mine is on the way out, so would like to get one in to have rebuilt (if required) prior to fitting.

Either garrett or KKK.

MJ, can I just fit either or would they need to be replaced with the same? I.E. is it a universal fit manifold?

you can fit either i believe, the manifold is part of the turbo itself anyway.

I thought only the Cupra (PD160) used Garrett? Rest were KKK?

Only going from memory as my turbo is knackered and getting replaced next weekend and I remember looking on loads of websites as cost for refurbishing etc and only remember seeing Garrett next to the Cupra TDI model.

most seat diesels have garretts on them from new but on the later models some were fitted with KKK which quite frankly were sh1te and when the enevitably blew they were swapped for garrets (seat supplied).

I ask as I have a feeling mine is on the way out, and want to get something in place, but slightly stronger if you know what I mean.

The turbo`s fitted to the BKD PD140 engine where Garret GT1749V and part number 03G253019A . If your thinking of going down the hybrid route i personally would just buy a new unit then sale your old one after the swap over. Buying second hand turbos is a gamble which is why i have never bother with dealing with them.

OK so if/when going for a new/hybrid what parts are worth getting uprated? Thrust bearings?
