My cars done 87k now ive also had dpf delete and remap done about 2k miles ago now my clutch is starting to slip espcially in 3rd and 4th. Is the standard clutch and dmf ok or is it worth uprating? dont really want to spend ££££ been looking at this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280742448657?_trksid=p5197.c0.m619 it says its ideal for sensibly remapped cars. can anyone give me some advice?

Cheers

Peter

P.s Just been in touch with him and hes says its rated to 520nm should this kit be ok?

If your clutch is slipping i would suggest firstly change your driving style! Running a stage2+ DPF Delete on mine and my clutch was fine

Have since fitted a Organic Clutch and SMF just for the sake of it

Wouldnt say he needs to change driving style to say its done 87k and also mapped. Try darkside developments before you buy else where they do a lot of stuff for the pd's.

but the PD170 clutch is quite a heavy duty OEM clutch, He might of only had it mapped 2k ago aswell

BIGG Addicted fitted a Sachs Clutch with new OEM DMF didnt cost him that much

My SMF setup was close to 1k

My clutch started slipping 3 days after my remap, I had done 90k+ with it which I reckon is not to bad for a clutch. I'm similar to Andrew (organic & SMF), they're a little noisy but I'm sure a DMF would be fine. Ps I paid a tad more than £1k:(

i have this clutch and dmf and tbh its not amazing i was also told it can withstand around 370lbs/ft but it doesn't always grab in second and it vibrates terribly when i put my foot down in 3rd,4th,5th,6th at low revs which i know i shouldn't do and i don't just tried it once each gear and its terrible (unless the garage fitted it badly). the only reason i brought this clutch as my gearbox blown up on me and i thought it was worth changing the clutch while the box was out and didn't have the funds. imo i would go smf, helix or southbend, the reason there dearer is because there quality.

Grabbing issue could be a leaking cylinder, Vibrating will be the DMF, did you fit a new DMF or use the old one?

p.s Just read your other thread about Gearbox, Mechanic is talking out of his rear, O2Q gearbox can handle alot more than 220bhp, Some of the Cupra's are running nearly 400 horses, Some from Romania running 500 horses

ok maybe that's why. i used the one that came with the kit which i don't believe is uprated i maybe wrong but i think its the original 140bhp tdi dmf as i read thats Sachs as fr tdi is luk maybe wrong, i have never seen an uprated Sachs dmf for 2.0 tdi.

i thought so i was just unlucky then i have a 2008 golf jma gearbox now.

There isnt such a thing as an uprated DMF, they are all weak. Yeh FR's tend to come with LUK DMF

The one supplied SHOULD be new though

cant see it being driving style never gets booted 1st nd 2nd nd wen it does from 3rd its always above 2.5k. Dont know who had the car before me!!!

Havent got £1000 at t min for clutch kit just spent a fortune on it with lowering, remap, alloy refurb etc. So oem clutch and flywheel should be ok?

Wheres best to get sachs clutch? will just probs get oem flywheel.

i'm bringing this thread to life :)

currently my leon (PD140 but with PD170 turbo) with ~210HP / 320lb ft needs a new flywheel, as i start feeling vibrations. it was time to chage it anyway since it is almost 6 years old with 75k miles on it, plus it took some beating with launches. the clutch still doesn't slip but it will be changed also...

so will OEM DMF + uprated Sachs organic clutch do the job ? i must admit from time to time the car will be launched heavily, but normally it is a quiet slow daily driver :)
