Please help, unknown issue in my Ibiza TDi 2014

Hi all, new here. I have an Ibiza TDi 2014, a problem started a year ago where I was driving and the engine light and EML and ESP lights come on and the car would not accelerate any more. I'd wait a while, start again, the car starts fine, just as soon as you even touch the accelerator, the lights come on again and no acceleration. I took it to a mechanic, he cleaned the pedal housing unit out and it ran fine for a while again. last week it started happening again so the new mechanic cleaned it out, changed the pedal and said it should be fine. He said though that the onboard computer was not showing what's causing the problem but he could see the graph accelerator pedal position E was not looking stable. (Throttle position sensor)

So a week later now, driven the car loads and yesterday it started happening again and the mechanic still can't find why it's doing it and now saying he will have to look deeper at the wiring but if it's the ESP system then it could cost well over a grand to sort out.

Has anyone else had this issue, what was the fix?

Cheers in advance.

Brake light switch?

I had this on a 2007 Fabia a while back (was actually driving to the MOT station), exactly the same problem - car would stutter / wouldn't accelerate if you touched the throttle.

I think on most VW group cars of a certain age the onboard computer won't let you use the brake and throttle at the same time. In my case the brake light switch was permanently on, so the car thought I was trying to brake and accelerate at the same time. So it cut the fuel accordingly. Part was about £8 and the Mot station fitted it; all was well (and the car passed).
