Hello all just got my leon 170 fr hence the post count.
Seems to have its dpf deleted (hence the big weld mark) and a revo map on it (judging by the big revo stickers lol)

Looking to hit the 270 mark with 400+ ft lb.
Already decided what turbo I want, going for a hybrid with 60mm wheel.

I was wondering...

What is the capabilities of the stock intercooler, can it handle say, 2.2 bar, and that horsepower?
What is the capabilities of the stock boost pipework? I don't fancy paying darkside prices,
Also, is there any alternative intercooler kits / pipework apart from darkside?

Also, since my dpf has been deleted, will the car run okay without the o2 / lambda or whatever they're called sensors? Either tied away or removed completely? I'd like to fabricate my own downpipe and 3 inch exhaust, but it will be much more difficult having to make a threaded hole for the sensor.

I also take it intake mods make no difference on this car? Maybe an s2000 filter wouldn't hurt.

Cheers in advance
kyle

Its not REVO software, not on a PPD170, not unless it was on of their trial cars back in 2008. They don't do PPD170 software.

K-Tune are the PD170 masters with a GTB2260VK at well over 300 horses.

There are the odd few revo 170s out there before they pulled it you know Andrew, don't think it was a very good map though, I got shown a dyno print once and it was a bit all over the place. But it's equally likely that the revo stickers were added for the aesthetic bhp increase :)

Kyle, a few lads on here went down the eBay intercooler route, so there is a few threads with opinions and reviews somewhere. Stocks ok for what people normally get out of them but it would do no harm upgrading if you're going to attempt something adventurous.

You should be ok without the O2 sensor, just like running a decat on a petrol I think. And yes the intake were a bit of a waste of money but you will get bored and change it anyway once you start modding lol just like the rest of us. I had a cheap k&n 57i but I'm sure I read somewhere that the enclosed itg one did actually make difference if you can believe what you read on the net.

Best option is GTB2260, hybrids do not run well on this engine.

There is few cars running above 300bhp with gtb turbo, and is very easy to find one together with manifold.

I remember a white 1 from Ireland, REVO kept sending it to Oscarli for them to fix the mapping.

cheers for the replies, i was expecting to get an email saying further replies lol.

I'm not really fussed about revo tbh, I don't see their maps being anything special, just tried and tested I suppose, unlike the quantum tuning map that filled my old cars sump with diesel... but thats before I know the difference between mappers and monkeys.
The stickers are rather aerodynamic mind ;)

seems the general consensus is that the standard IC is fine then, my old puntos intercooler was about the size of my arm so that made sense to change, i didn't realise standard IC was as big as the rad!

I'm glad about the o2 sensor, should save me some money.

and lmao, yeah, i dunno what it is with intakes, they're addictive, even though you know they make naff all difference
I was gonna go for a basic 90 degree elbow, and a s2k filter, I'm keeping exhaust quite so some turbo noise would be nice.

Can I ask the reasoning behind that? I don't doubt you! But i've heard so many conflicting opinions,
The hybrid I was going to get would be 60mm wheel, with GTB vnt, it seemed a top spec bit of kit, a sort of mix of all the best parts of gtb2260 and hybrid.

I'm doing a lot of research into this before I jump straight in, I want to get my moneys worth etc, good low down spool etc
