Programme remote key Leon MK3

Hey!

Bought my Leon Mk3 back in Novemeber from Crewe Seat. They didn't have the second key because it was still with the manufacturer (or some excuse along those lines).

Anyway, they finally got round to sending me the second key, but low and behold it doesn't work. The key works in the ignition and the red light flashes when buttons pressed, but the car doesn't unlock. They've asked me to book in with them to get it sorted, but Crewe is 2hours from where I live.

Anyone know how to programme a remote key for a Leon MK3?

try this:

Synchronising the vehicle key
If the unlock button is pressed frequently outside of the vehicle range, it is possible
that the vehicle can no longer be locked or unlocked using the key. In
this case, the key must be resynchronised as described below:
● Unfold the vehicle key shaft
● If necessary, remove the cover from the driver door lever.
● Press the unlock button on the vehicle key.
● Open the vehicle within one minute using the key shift. The key has
been synchronised.
● If necessary, fit the cap.

Thanks for the advice, but unfortunately no luck.

Funny that, I also bought from Crewe back in October and didn't get the second key until a week later - think I better make sure it works!

I'm also about 2 hours from there so wouldn't go back to get it sorted - can't go to a more local dealer?

Hmm, maybe they have a black market in spare keys!

Good idea on going to a more local dealership, any idea if they would charge for it?

They shouldn't do in my opinion, should be covered under warranty really (who knows though! Give them a call)

Are you saying you should get 2 remote keys with the car as standard or is this something you negotiated/ordered with the dealer.
My Exeo was pre-pregistered and only came with one remote and one standard key.
Be good to know what I should expect when my new Leon turns up.

Yeah, 2 remote keys were part of the deal. Manual key entry is difficult because the lock is covered as standard, so I'd be surprised if they even make a non-remote key.
