Looking at getting a PSI Tuning Box.

It plugs in between the injection pump and the ECU as far as I can gather.

What does this do, increase the fuel pressure, amount of fuel injected?

I looked on the PSI motorsport website, and it doesn't give much info just this:

The IP Power operates with the Bosch pump injector system used commonly in all the engines from the V.A.G group.

To attain even higher Nozzle Pressures , unit Injector Systems were Developed in 1999 by Volkswagen AG . Instead of a Central High pressure injection pump feeding individual injectors the “Pump Duse “ system combines a small high pressure pump directly into each injector fed by a low pressure feed pump . The PSI IP Powerbox currently is considered as the system that gives the greatest Output of Bhp and Torque and offering the possibility of fuel Saving..

Anybody got any thoughts or ideas?

It alters the quantity adjuster position signal to the ECU, this results in a larger volume of fuel being injected.

It increases the injection window, injecting further into the stroke, this does result in higher EGT's but is not serious.

Old skool boxes altered the fuel temp signal to add more fuel, but this method retards timing.
