Random Cutting out (while Driving)

Hi Guys..

A Few months ago when we had the bad weather i had a odd issue with the key & Barrel,When i put the key in the barrel and turned on the ignition all the lights come on as normal....but when i turned the key I goT nothing...it woudnt turn over or make any noise abit like the key wasnt moving the barrel...

Now last night i done a nice journey to blackpool which was roughtly 43miles there and then same back but when i was pottering down a duelcarage way the car just randomly turned off,Key was still in the usal on postion and no lights came on the dash...Just the usal Dipped beam light..I lost all power like the car was turn off bit like the key was removed...

But when i turned the car off and on with the key in the ignition it started and drove fine...The key & ignition might have nothing todo with the cause but thought id mention my odd issue..

Any ideas faulks?

Does sound like a worn barrel.

Yeah it does doesnt it...Do i need a new key if i need one lee?

Not sure if the key can be matched to your barrel, not a common thing tbh.
