The Cupra Raval will use a LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery pack, giving it a balance of affordability, safety and durability, with a projected range of around 280 miles from the larger pack. LFP can also be happily charged to 100% every time.

I assume the choice of LFP chemistry was deliberate, as these batteries are cheaper to produce, avoid reliance on cobalt or nickel and offer long cycle life with excellent thermal stability. SEAT has invested €300 million into a new battery assembly plant at Martorell, Spain, capable of producing up to 300,000 packs per year. This facility will supply the Raval and Volkswagen’s ID.Polo, positioning Spain as a hub for compact EV production. Raval becomes more and more enticing as the spec is pretty decent too even in entry level Dynamic trim.
