Hi all,

Well today i thought id try to replace my faulty door locking mechanism on the passenger rear door. Its been like it for 4 months now, would not open from inside or outside the car, so i took the door card off and managed to open it, replaced the door lock mechanism and plugged all the wiring back in. Then came the trouble with the window cables, i couldnt get enough slack to pull it over the last pulley and a sit was getting dark ive had to wedge a bit of wood in to hold the window up. Itll do until the weather warms up i guess and i aint as stressed.

With that i attached all the other bits and bobs and then fitted the door card. I closed the door, then locked the car, but didnt hear the single beep from the alarm. i checked all 3 other doors, all locked, went to my rear door witht the new lock and it still opened even though it was alarmed. i then unlocked it and still unlocked. I then thought id attempt the same from the inside, i shut the door tried opening it, but no, wouldnt open at all, and even when i locked it it did the same?

I just dont get it, could it be an ECU problem? Ive really had enough! :wtf:

If anyone else has experienced similar and can help, would be appreciated.:)

Hi. Did you get to the bottom of this?

I've got the same problem, door deadlocked shut. I've got the door card off, and metal panel but can't get behind it. I think it'sbecause of the window mechanism???

How did you get past the electric window? Was opening the car easy enough once you got to the lock?

Cheers

latch

did u reset the latch before fitting if not u will have to remove to do so there is a hook u need to push back an clip onto a spring shud be easy enuf to spot hope this helps:)

If it is no longer beeping, it is not registering that the door is closed.
Was the raplacement unit brand new, 2nd hand or overhauled?

The 'setting' of the pull mechanism should not affect the cars ability to recognise the door is closed, just will prevent you from being able to use the exterior handle to open the car.
