Yep it’s a common issue, door lock is on its way out.
New one is around £130 /breakers around £40. 30min job to fit but door card needs to come off..
Try the wd40 trick. Search YouTube for it if you don't want to completely remove the lock and panel.
I removed the lock and opened it slightly before spraying inside. Didn't work straight away but a few hours later it started working. Hasn't worked for months before that.
Dealer wanted £130 for a lock.
To completely remove the door panel/ lock you need a long Tx30 and a spline/square for removing the lock.
Rears are a lot easier than fronts.
I've had both of my rears go, though a couple of years apart. Replaced both with used items from eBay and they've been fine since.
With the rears you don't need to take the door card off. You just need to remove the trim panel from the door card. This provides enough room to remove the lock.
The WD40 trick worked a treat for me but was on front door
