The wiring harness in my rear hatch is breaking up where it passes between body & door should I repair or replace? anybody got any views/experience on this? seems to be a common problem.

Repairing it should be easy(ish) if you are comfortable with a soldering iron use some heat shrink as it will water proof the joint to, it may be necessary to drop the headlining at the back to give you more space..

I had the same problem, i pulled back the rubber boot between the roof and tailgate, got the trusty old soldering iron out and covered with heat shrink... easy and still working..2 years on ..

Thanks for reply, the wires haven't broken Yet, but the rubber boot has split exposing the wires & the insulation is cracked in several places exposing the copper so failure is only a matter of time. I'll get some shrink sleeving & dig out the soldering iron & hot air gun A new boot as I think.
