Reconnecting Battery after long period of sitting

Hi all,

Excuse me if I've missed this being discussed before. I ran a search but found nothing.

I've been out of the UK for 9 months. My car was sat on my parents drive during that time and my dad took the liberty of disconnecting the battery. Now that I've reconnected the battery I'm getting nothing. The battery charger suggests that the battery is okay.

Ive read some things regarding engine management units on new cars. Has anyone come across this problem before and if so, how do I fix it. At the moment I can't even get it off the drive.

You know the little indicator window on the battery... if there's nothing on the indicator window, is it dead?!

I ask because the battery charger is saying its "ready".

Yes normally it is

Easy thing to do is take a battery off another household car and connect that see if you get anything.
