Does anyone one know how to remove the rear light lens, I.e.just the outer clear plastic.

Ive done a search but can't seem to find anything and I don't think they are the same method as how to remove the front headlight lens, I.ei in the oven to soften the adhesive. :(

Any help would be appreciated!

Rob

P.S. don't ask me why...if it works you'll all find out! ;)

Thanks Simon but it's not removing the light but opening them into the seperate parts once off the car.

more Led goodness Rob? Just watch the temperatures, I had to get my rear light replaced after it got warped because I was getting a bit impatient with a heat gun when removing some moisture from the lens

Something like that! ;) After further research it looks like they are bonded together so heating them wont work, as you say, it will just deform them. I've got a broken spare light so I got the dremel onto it so I'll have a practice with that and see how my ideas work!

I used a angle grinder on my Ibiza lights as just apply heat made it go a funny shape and ended up not fitting right , only took 5 mins with a thin cutting blade guess you Leon are the same if heat deforms them

Yes mate, same problem. My first practice attempt seemed to go very well and I'm going to make the alterations to see how it looks. Once all done I will then crack on with a proper set!
