After looking into getting cruise control reto fitted and almost buying it from Awesome, I thought I would ask the local Skoda dealers in Dundee what they would charge to fit it...............150quid all in inc VAT - so got the parts ordered and just waiting for the call :D
Will post up any info after it's done.

That really is a cracking price there mate - especially from an offical dealer. I had mine recently done at HazzyDays for £182 all in, as I'm going to be up and down the M1 50mph limit section loads in the next few months, and I've only used it once, but its so useful in the mornings!!!

I have to say that the service there was really good. They are near me so I drove to them, and got a discount included in the price. Martin, who did it, was a safe bloke, we had a good chat as he did it and he lead me through all the things he was doing, so he had nothing to hide work wise.

Well recommended - although if this price is legit then I should have checked my skoda dealer first! Hope you enjoy it!

UPDATE: got the cruise control fitted :D, 180quid all in (they had to connect in some loose wires on my harness )
Tried it out on the Perth / Dundee dual carriageway and am well pleased [B)]

Do you need a drive by wire throttle for retrofit cruise control? Ive done the rev to 3k and Press brake pedal but my revs dont drop, would this mean i cant have cruise? Car was originally a aug engine and now a auq

That's cool
Just wondered how do you set it at the speeds you want

On the main stalk there is the large on/off switch. At the end is a rocker switch. If the main switch is off then nothing happens when you use the rocker. If the main switch is on, then when you are at the speed you desire, then you press the bottom rocker switch (labelled SET) and this activates cruise control. You will stay at this speed (going up or down hills) unless you: Turn the main switch off, or press the clutch or brake pedal.

Whilst in cruise mode, you can tap either rocker switch to increase/decrease the cruise control speed. Pressing the accelerator pedal whilst in cruise mode will obviously increase speed, but if you release it, it will settle at the last stored speed (until cruise if stopped with the switch/clutch/brake).

And finally, if you do break cruise control, then as long as you havent switched the main switch to off, then pressing the top rocker switch resumes the car to the last stored speed.

I think I've covered all the bases. Oh and it will take a while to get used to the fact that indicating is super smooth because of the new stalk :)

Dan, I think you will have to have the drive-by-wire to get this installed. Not sure if you mean you have fitted a new engine into your car but if it's the same pedals and wiring loom I think you'll be onto plums

yeh mines a 2000 cupra, and when i did the revving check it didnt work so im assuming its not a drive by wire throttle, little strange as the golf turbo i had was a v reg and that was drive by wire, is there only certain engine codes that were fitted with the drive by wire throttle system?

I thought the mk1 Cupra was drive by wire. Have you tried looking at the accelerator pedal and seeing if there's some sort of cable attached to it?

the rev test i thought was for the diesel and if you turn on your ignition on the petrols it says EPC which means it would be drive by wire
