So have had the car for two years now, its an '08 plate and havent done much to it other than a couple of small mods. Would love to do some larger ones but for 1. Insurance wont let me and for 2. its only a 1.2 so no gains out of the engine! so heres a few pics of some of the things Ive done to it

New gear knob off a leon cupra r k1. Bramd new for £30. Like the red stiching, fits with handbrake

Painted abit in the engine bay red so can see it through the grill. Don't know what I've painted but I think it looks good. Quite subtle..

These were the osram nightbreakers I had fitted compared to standard.

Now have fitted
H7 ABD 12V 55W Xenon Ice Blue Bulbs that are a little more whiter and about the same power. Nice now the winter is setting in..

You need to paint all of the caliper the brakes are already small without painting only half of them .

yea I realised my mistake when I went in to get new tyres fitted today and saw them again without the wheels on and thought 'Oh'! Next time i get my wheels off I'll finish the job! Thanks for the advice tho!

Also luke like the yellow calipers on yours. Always think black and red but the yellow theme on yours looks awesome!

Also does anyone know if I can fit bigger brake discs and calipers on mine even if I've only got 15" steelies?

looks like quite a clean car,you would have to upgrade your calipers to have bigger brakes 312mm tt brakes although they would be way to much for the power you have but they should fit behind your alloys. your disc looks pretty haggered in that picture above.

Do you mean too much breaking power for the 1.2? Would that be a problem. Sorry not that clued up on these things! If I did upgrade how much am I looking roughly for discs and calipers? Thanks for your help..

Loving the mods to the car, some really great small mods, the interior looks much nicer and those lights look crackin' nice to see another 1.2 on here too. Reminds me a bit of mine

yeah to much brakeing power for the 1.2 although i also think you cant really have to much brakeing power unless in a lightweight vehicle.
use the search above for 312mm brakes my car came with them so i dont really know how much they cost.

Thanks, not a big fan of big body kits, and also seeing as its only 1.2 power alot of things can look silly! would love a cupra spoiler as its not too large but just makes the back look really nice. But garage are quoting me something like 300 quid for spoiler, painting and fitting...eek!

Yeah bodykits are yuk bar the SEAT ones yeah i love the cupra bits, the spoiler is very nice. £300 doesn't sound too bad, my bumper plus paint and fitting cost just over £200. I think if you shopped around you'd probably find a better price, i'll be surprised if you can't find a better price

Like Ibizas in black, however i think yours would look better with 17 inch wheels. Why do you want to upgrade the brakes anyway, are they bad? tbh they dont look too clever in that photo with your wheel off - look grooved. My car has standard size brakes (not sure if they are the same size discs at the front but i have disks at the rear instead of drums) and i find the brakes to be very good. Not so sure on that 'blanking plate' you fitted but each to their own....

Would love some 17's but insurance are not even letting me do that. Trying to stick to mods that aren't too obvious to insurance company. Saying that custom backbox is going on on thursday! Well braking is pretty good for a small car even though only discs at the front but I fancied seeing what it would be like if I had more! Also bigger discs and calipers would look nicer. Probably stick to these but prob need new soon! Yea I wasn't sure on the blanking plate at first as its actually bigger than the stereo but getting used to it now and it makes it a little original inside... Thanks for the comments!
