Hey, I'm new to the forum, joined the other week to have a look at mods and issues etc before I went and spent my money on an Ibiza.

I bought the car a couple of weeks ago and I love it!

It already had a few mods done (which I was gonna be doin anyway) so I saved a few hundred bob there

Anyways, I drove a saxo VTR previously, which handled amazingly but just lacked in the power after the corners!

So I turned 21 at the start of May and so my insurance dropped quite a bit, so it was time for a new car. I'd had the sax for a few years and it was time for a change, I also had an offer of someone to buy it of me before I even had any intentions of selling it, after doing a lot of work on the suspension, new clutch, timing belt change, they knew I'd looked after it and offered me a decent sum and I couldn't refuse.

I drive my dad's cars quite a lot, 320D and A3 2.0TDI so my mind was open to a diesel, I started looking around at cars, preferably VAG, I wanted a Mk1 A3 T Sport for a while before deciding I wanted something newer.
I looked at Golf GTIs, GT TDIs and Ibizas FR TDIs and 20VTs and finally settled on the FR 20VT after getting a decent insurance quote.

Then I saw This for sale 1 mile from my house...

So I was stuck again, checked insurance and it wasnt much more than the beezer,
eventually made my mind up the TT was 6500 and I was gonna have to get another 500 quid quickly, plus it was an 02 plate and I really wanted a 'newer' car... Ibiza it was.

Found this and had a test drive without looking under the bonnet..

On the test drive I put my foot down and noticed it had a remap already I was gonna have to get it remapped after I got it anyways so already a bonus.
Obviously it was already lowered, but I found it was on coilies which was a plus!
few other mods- LCR splitter, boost gauge, 007P and Green panel filter so all in all, a pretty good find.
The garage wouldn't knock any money off so I got a bit out of them, a service, two new tyres, a few interior bits that were missing and a full check over for dents etc.
So in the end it was £5900 for an 07 plate FR with 38K, essential mods done, FSH, fresh tyres and in pristine condition, also some damn good smelling Auto Glym air fresheners!

So Got it insured, taxed and got it home, beastin!

Got on personalising straight away because I think I have OCD, just couldn't leave it..
Painted the aerial satin black(was chrome).
Sorted out the splitter, the centre mounting peg things hadnt been cut down so kind of bulged down in the middle, went at it with a hacksaw and won the fight

Also put my hula flowers, iphone mount, and bottle of Volvic in, also removed the aftermarket pedals that the previous owner had fitted, not to my taste but each to their own ey?

I also changed the boost gauge that was in, it was in a universal mount which was carbon firbe effect, the gauge had a carbon fibre face which lit up with a dim tungsten bulb, it wasnt fantastic, I'll tell you that.
So got on the bay anfd found someone selling a smoked face gauge which lit up red with no logos and matched the dash perfectly so got it for 15 squid, bargain, still got the universal gauge pod in though, i sprayed it satin black so looks a bit more respectable
It'll do till I have a few quid spare for an Ibiza specific one.

Also got a new rear light, as it had one odd light, the previous owner had put in the base model red backed lights as they matched the red car more, but one of the light must have got cracked or whatever so had one odd fr/cupra style light fitted, had to get on this straight away, being a bit OCD 'n' all. Also got some 20mm hubcentrics as it was cryin for some.

Also dewipered it, was gonna get a polo aero wiper but couldnt be arsed tracking one down, I've never in my driving life actually needed to wipe the back window so hey..
I also stuck a few skate stickers on the back windows and got some plain number plates, I hate ones with logos, flags etc on.

It already had a fog removed to aid airflow to the intercooler, I was going to be doin this aswell so yet another thing the previous owner kindly did for me

Got some Wind deflectors which I can't do without these days, love having the windows down a bit, i feel trapped when its rainin and I cant open the windows haha. Sorry it's sideways..

Double DIN head unit and wire a JL sub in (probably a stealth build in the spare wheel well)

yeah, it was owned by somebody else on here, i was readin up on coilovers and saw a picture of my car haha, the splitter should be fitted from factory, couldn't need it any more really.
