ok i know putting spacers on the back of the mk2 helps stability and cornering, and i have heard people say that the turn in to corners is no longer as good when this has been done

so if for example i was to put 15mm spacers on the rear, and maybe say 5mm at the front, would this keep the feel of the turn in while increasing stability?

or am i wrong and the handling is ok and does not need that, and has anyone done this at all and what were the results?

I've got 10mm spacers (well 9.5) on the back of my gti 8v and tbh yes it does cut turn in a small touch but it makes up for it in the fact its more sure footed and you can leather it into the corner faster in the first place......

I'd personally avoid putting spacers on the front wheels at all, they are the ones that put the power down afterall.

just my opinion though :)

I think the best thing you could do is to try it. Afterall spacers aint that expensive and it'd be a good test to see what the wider track actually does to the cars abilities. You'll need more longer wheel bolts though thats the only downside but if it all goes wrong just sell the spacers and bolts as a job lot :)
