Growing old disgracefully

Just got my Cupra, with the sat nav, but the sat nav is set to German as the default language... Dealer reckons that I need an english disc for it... Any thoughts?? Could I get away with a disc from an altea, or is a firmware flash necessary ???

Just got off the phone to the dealer, apparently some Cupra's are being sent without the disc due to theft in transit.... 48hrs and I should have my nav cd, interesting times these......

Just got off the phone with dealer (again), still no cd, to say that I'm p*ssed off with them is an understatement, I understand the need for security, but I ordered this car in October with satnav, so why can't the dealer/seat get their acts together, I mean it's a £1600 option thats stuck in german for the want of a £50 cd, every other dealer I've spoken to said that they ordered the cds 2 days before the cars arrived from the docks, so why didn't mine??
Appalling aftercare (IMHO), no mats, no parking sensors fitted, didn't fit my new grille either, will be getting it serviced at GK Seat in Derby instead of Willoughby Seat, who seem only interested in the money, not the customer...

get yourself down to the dealership, speak to the sales manager and dont leave until you know exactly when your discs are going to be in your hands. and before you leave demand the mats as a freebie for your wasted time, your worry, their incompetance, not to mention all those times youve already got lost 'cos youve got no sat nav

just because were a nation of patient, polite people it doesnt mean that we still have to put up with what seems to be increasingly poor customer service. get down there, maybe raise your voice a bit and create a bit of a scene in the showroom. probably the last thing they need on a busy bank holiday weekend.

i'm off on one now. its just as well i dont have a cat or i'd be off now to kick the :censored: ard!

good luck.

oh, when your happy take your business elsewhere. power to the punter!!

Did you get your disk? Is the TMC (Traffic Avoidance Software) working? I've just received a TDI FR with Sat Nav, the TMC doesn't work and the local dealer seems unable to help.

Unable? Unwilling is probably more like it, now they have your cash they dont care.

Do what i do and start screaming and shouting with other customers around, gets noticed pretty quick!!

As i have said before, once you have parted with your money then they cant be bothered with the work afterwards, all they want is the commision they get for selling the car to a customer.
If you still have probs complain to customer services and tell them how you feel exactly and how you are being treated by aftersales.
I had to do this to get a new audio unit, after waiting 2 weeks for the new unit to come in and get the car booked in they told me they would not fit the new one because they cant replicate the original problem they detected the first time, it was time for customer serivces then and i told them how i felt and demanded the new one to be fitted, which after a phonecall to the dealer from customer services rectified, only to find out the new unit was faulty as well:doh:, got a new one fitted the other day finally:whistle:

Progress Update

Thanks for the advice. It's so frustrating. You buy a £1500 option because Seat advise that it does what you want it to and then there seems to be very little support when it doesn't do what they promise. I rang Blaupunkt this afternoon and spoke to their customer services to try and get an insight. I was advised that the unit is “rubbish compared to the Pioneer Avic X-1 that I had fitted” to my 53 Focus TDCI sport and that “Blaupunkt no longer sell the TMC disk themselves as it didn't work very well anyway”. I was advised that I may be able to pick up a disk from Tele Atlas that would support TMC but it would be a waste of money as the TMC mapping codes (whatever they are) are not reliable. I find this hard to believe as Tele Atlas also provided the mapping for the Pioneer that I had which worked beautifully.

The Leon, lovely drive that it is (must remember that I do love it apart from the TMC issue) has been provided by Lloyds TSB Autolease as part of the company car scheme I'm on. Tomorrow (when I regain the will to live) I will start the process of pursuing it through them to see if they can get Seat to shed any light on the situation.

I’ll let you know how I get on.

Please if anybody has been through this before and can advise I would be very grateful!
