Sat Nav update

Hi all,

When my sat nav told me I was driving across an open field but I knew I was on the new Beaconsfield relief road I thought it might be time to get the sat nav on my '69 plate Cupra Ateca updated. After speaking to several people at my nearest dealer, Seat Slough, they quoted £450. Really???!!! Presumably this is to replace the whole unit rather than simply update the mapping software. I did look into updating the software myself but it looks like it can't be done.

Has anyone had their sat nav updated? How much were you charged?

Thanks for any advice/suggestions.

Poo.

Is that a mib3 from the plate. They have been suspect at doing that... quite a few early cases of mib3 across VAG brand doing that you read on boards including here. I thought it was fixed via software updates. I answered a similar question today. Software bug in mib3.

@East Yorkshire Retrofits any comments as to what the solution is. If it's a firmware update, it should be free.
