Satnav Issue

Hi all,

I have a cupra 300 and have noticed that the satnav quite often says to come off at a motorway junction only to have you get right back on at the same junction and continue along the motorway!

Other than that, ive not noticed any issues with it, and im aware that alot of people complain inbuilt systems are rubbish compared to google maps or waze etc etc, but this seems like a very specific glitch. So i wondered if anyone else had it, or knew what the latest version was/how to check if it needs a software update.

Any help much appreciated as always.

There is a thread on the forum called “Navigation System Upgrade” which details how to check if you have the current version v1030 or not. It also details how to update it. I did this for my Cupra 300 and have had no issues with the Sat Nav.

I would post a link but as I’m on my mobile at work I’m unable to do that. I’m sure someone will do it though.

My sat nav drives me mad doing that! It’s even gone as far as bringing me off at a junction to join another motorway, to then come off at the first junction of that motorway, rejoin it, and then rejoin the motorway I was originally on!

It’s true, machines are taking over the world! And having fun with us in doing so...

Not had this issue in the Leon that I can recall, but my Passat does it regularly.

I've had this a couple of times too. I've also had it on fastest route and it's taken me off a motorway onto some a roads and then back onto the same motorway a few junctions down...........only to find I'm behind a car I overtook about 5 minutes earlier. Fastest, I think not.

It's annoying but I don't use it that often so not a major issue for me.

Could this be something to do with the route selection - Fastest, Shortest, Greenest, etc.? Just a thought.... I've set mine to only use the fastest (red) route selection which hides away the others and avoids confusion...

I've had this last week on the way to yarmouth. I'm on the latest versions and it still tried to take me off the dual carriageway, do a triangle route through a village only to rejoin on the same junction i just left from.

A couple of times it tried to do the offslip-roundabout-onslip trick to rejoin the same bit of the A14. It's set to always pick fastest route too.

Mines always set to fastest too. I want to get somewhere in good time, don't see the point in any of the other options? Why take a longer (time wise) route?

I plan on updating my maps soon just never seem to get round to it.
