Hey Guys,

This is mainly aimed at the Scottish members as I am hoping they can provide me with some invaluable information, now I appreciate that 95% of any information I get back will undoubtedly be elsewhere on the forum but I just wanted to try and get some definite feedback regarding what places (preferably close to Glasgow) are able to provide a good re-mapping service at an affordable rate.

I have a Leon 1.9TDi 110, so have been looking about at remap figures and they appear to all be giving an increase of 30Bhp and a torque increase of about 60.

Now I just wanted to see what companies Scottish members have used and can recommend (or advise missing), at present I have only contacted Angel Tuning who advised a cost of roughly £300 (although I had been looking at adding a DIA induction kit to push an additional 5 or 6 BHP).

Again sorry if this is a repost, but wanting some norther advice.

I got my car remapped off a guy from my work who is a License Technician for a VW garage. Just fitted FMIC, clutch and Turbo Dynamics stage 2 turbo and got him 2 remap it and very impressed with it. Does all sorts of maps and lives in Glasgow area!

star performance, in kirckaldy, but most people in scotland are willing to travel quite a bit to them as they are that good. VW, AUDI,SEAT, SKODA specialists. absolutely first class.

Yup, give Jim @ Star a call.

Note that for some things Jim is not the cheapest, but you are paying for the highest quality of service and full support.

Just got my car back yesterday from Jim. was in for a big-turbo upgrade - he's the only place in Scotland i'd trust to do this sort of work on my car :)

ok, just a quick one for everyone, if your looking for a re-map the is a guy doing remaps on ebay, his shop is- ecu tune. you take your ecu out yourself, post it to him, he does the job and sends it back, all (on my car) for £125, took my car from 130bhp to 165bhp, have had no problems with it, and still get good mpg when driving carefully. takes about 3 days and your back on the road! well worth it!!

Yup ... and if you want to save even more you can buy a DVD full of map's for the VAG range for about £10-15 & do it yourself.

It all comes down to service, i know if i have any issues with my car i can take it somewhere (Star) & they will have a look at it, can rolling-road it & prove that the work is not over-stressing anything.
