Hi - I have a Seat Altea FR 170bhp 2.0 Diesel and i'm chasing my tail trying to fix the brakes. Car done 98,000mls

Brake pedal raises slowly and brakes remain on for a few seconds.

Initial I though it was sticking disk pads or sticking caliper pistons. Replace all the brake calipers and ensured pads and calipers are free to slide. Bleed brakes.

With problem remaining I replaced the brake master cylinder. Difficult job due to very limited access but completed and Bleed brakes again!

Problem still remains.

Did something that perhaps i should have tried before. Pressed brake pedal with engine off. Brake pedal raised OK and quickly. Started engine and tried again and back to brakes sticking on and pedal rising slowly.

Now suspect faulty valve inside Brake servo not releasing servo and keeping braking system pressurised.

Next step would be to remove brake master cylinder again and fit new Brake servo but am wondering whether the ESP and ABS could be the cause?

Car currently stuck on drive and unsafe to move. So taking it to a garage is not an option.

Has anyone else had similar problems caused by a brake servo? or problems with ESP module?
