Hi all
Just got a ibiza FR 1.2 tsi 2016.
Can someone please tell me is this a timing chain or belt.? I'm sure it's a belt but the salesman said chain
This is to replace my beloved 2006 spory which I had for17 years !!

Can soneone also recommend what oil to use and at what intervals to oil change and filter. Also is E10 petrol OK?

Thank you :)

Give the engine code.

But most likely 2016 is EA211 which is belt driven.

Hi
I don't get the car till Wednesday. The salesman said oh its a timing chain ! I had a feeling it wasn't.

At how many miles should it be changed and at how many miles checked.
Thank you for responding

I don’t know how accurate or complete the information is but according www.timingbeltorchain.net website - link below - all petrol engines fitted to the 2008-2017 Ibiza have a timing chain, other than the 1.0 EA211 (engine code CHZB) which has a cam belt.

@Angiebaby - your car’s data sticker (probably one in the boot floor and another copy in the front of the car’s service book) should include the engine code for your car, which should enable you to confirm whether or not the information on the linked website above is correct or not.
