Seat Leon 2005 Stereo Safe mode

Ever since I had to recharge my battery after it went flat my stereo in my 2005 SEAT Leon, it has been stuck in SAFE mode and I've been unable to fix this.

I actually have the code which isn't the issue.

It just stays in SAFE mode no matter what I try. I've tried holding in 1 AND 3 but to no avail. Tried leaving it on until the numbers come up and it doesn't work. Even pried the stereo out in hopes that manually switching it on and off again might work and it didn't.

I found the code but it won't let me enter it in. I've left in on for an hour with the hopes maybe that might work but am not hopeful.

Does anybody have any ideas? Would be much appreciated.

P.S. I have read all the solutions so would really like some new ones if anyone has any.

To get it to the stage of allowing you to enter the code, from memory you have to have the igntion OFF, then turn the stereo on an leave it for about an hour. Then you should be able to enter the code, BUT the manual is wrong! Where it says press 'PROG' to enter the code, you actually have to press "SCAN"
