Hello all, I've been having very bad thoughts about selling up & buying a Cupra or R, my first issue is I've done ALOT of modifying so selling may be hard. Secondly I'm torn on what colour to go for...

Just keeping my eyes peeled on fleabay, and see what looks like a metallic red.. I thought they only done solid red? It's either that or speed blue

Lastly.. What bhp can I achieve safely without internal modifications?

Thanks

Whilst the red is nice, ( not seen a metallic red either) the Speed Blue is better. By miles. And it's faster. Honestly. :D
Whatever you buy, get a good un and you'll love it :)
Cupra or R. Although an R will give you a better life, more girlfriends than you can shake a stick at, wealth beyond your wildest dreams. A standard Cupra, well, look at Betty. He's got a Cupra and he's in R denial ......
Only joking. Get what you like, can afford and feel comfortable with. Then enjoy!

Yeaa I'd quite like the red for it being different, not that one thou, it's a cat D... lol.

To R or not to R is the question.

Don't start that argument

Get an R if you want leather seats, mint diffuser and nice 19s

Get a normal cupra if you aren't too fussed on the leather and 19s.

You'll be getting an aftermarket exhaust anyway so u can always do the cupra R conversion

See, I was civil there.

Looks like Dakota Red, a la Bocanegra Ibiza,we had an FR in it, sure someone on here had a Cupra/R in same colour?
more of a Pearl than metallic according to body shop when getting quotes.

More of a 'sleeper' colour than in your face Blues/Yellows etc.

Yeahh I may hold out for a pearl/met red FL R, then it must mean it's ment to be! Hahaa

Only reason I want an FL R is because I don't want to touch the bodywork but I want a diffuser, I have cloth cupra seats in my current Leon, and it's pre FL, so hopefully it'll all make sense.

Furia Grey is the one :)

Mondeo Maroon :)

I researched and found out the R badge not only adds weight, but compromises the airflow through the grille!

Here we go again. Betty was civil earlier, but I sense trouble brewing...

That is one mighty 1.9, a world away from our old mk5 Golf! I too would be trying to salvage the mods from it. And as nice as speed blue is, I'd.prefer the dark red as I have never seen a Cupra or Cupra R in that colour.

But grey paint is heavier. :p and surely the R badge deflects more air into the intake thus increasing performance. Mind you, I am a chubby fka so that probably discounts it all

If you decide to sell I could be tempted with your exhaust system and rear bumper..I've got a black btcc with the remus system & quite fancy going for the cupra look....

As to value, like you I've done loads to mine & value is hard to access as you'll never get back what you've put in..

Personally I'd strip what you can for standard parts E.G wheels f/c climate ( exhaust&bumper to me ha ha )

& try selling...

To sell that car it's going to need a special someone because you've done loads to it mate

If it was a simple dpf delete and stage 2 remap then it'd be a lot easier

(Notice how I was unbiased and didn't mention those horrific wheels) lol
