Service plan for Seat Leon FR Sports Plug-in Hybrid

I've been trying to get a service plan for my 2020 Leon FR Sports plug-in hybrid through Seat's own website.

After putting the registration in I get an error message saying there are no plans "for my vehicle". The dealer gets the same message and, after waiting ages to speak to Seat themselves, I finally spoke to someone in the finance department who couldn't tell me why I couldn't get a plan! It's not clear if they aren't giving them to ALL Leon plug-in hybrid owners, or if, for some reason, there's a freak thing with my car.

Has anyone else with a Mk4 plug-in hybrid Leon had the same issue???

Hi, took out the plan on my PHEV ehybrid last year. Three year plan, just put my registration in and the offer came up. Two services and I’m paying 18 payment of £17.43.

Thanks for that Keith. They finally managed to make the system recognise my car after loads of back and forth with Seat. For two services I was quoted over £500, so you got a good deal! In the end I went with a local garage that specialises in VAG cars.

I went with the plan as Seat had a sale on plus I have used a family franchise dealership for 20 years. Always good service.

On another matter have you had the battery fuse recall done yet. I’m still waiting for a call when a more local dealer is certificated. Only six in the uk and nearest currently is over 180 miles away!

Ah "the sale"... That was why I tried to book a service plan and, despite it being their problem not recognising my car, they wouldn't honour the 20% as the sale had passed by then. I would have done the same as you if I'd had as long a relationship with my dealer as you have...

I am on the list for the recall (or "campaign" as they like to call them). Yes, hardly any dealers are certificated, but the Milton Keynes one, my nearest, is hoping to gain certification soon. I'm sure that telling you about the recall ticks certain boxes, so they don't have to rush to actually complete the repair!

Ah yes the campaign, I was not happy having to travel to either Stafford, Stirling or Doncaster being located on the Lancashire coast! I escalated the issue to Seat UK who as you say ticked the progressing the recall box. Apparently they might need the car overnight so a hotel might be require. I suggested that they collect the car on a transporter and undertake the recall. Unfortunately there was an issue regarding who was liable for the cost so it was passed back to my local dealer in Lancaster who after discussion with the Seat Uk technical manager it seems as soon as a more local major city based dealer is certified it will be done then. Seeing the dealers on Friday for the SOS module replacement as since the software update I’ve had the popping issue and SOS failure message so might get an update then.

They mentioned a transporter for mine too but, surprise, surprise, I've heard nothing more!

How interesting you said about the SOS module. The SOS "light" has flashed up a couple of times on mine too, but I thought there's nothing wrong with the car. Of course, after stopping and switching the car off and on (rather like a Sky box) it cleared the error. I'd had enough of dealing with them for the moment so had put that issue to one side. I wonder if others have had the same SOS problem???

Seems affect certain cars across the VAG group. Apparently it all started when 5g was rolled out inside the M25 area. When the module senses a 3/4/5g signal change some modules post software update (1896) induced the problem on some but not all cars. I’ve switched the network off and it’s fixed the problem but it’s only temporary fix as when I switched it back on, next time I drove down the road it did it again. I can predict when it will occur. Saying that the 1896 software update transformed the performance of the infotainment system and removed the lag / black unresponsive screen problems.

I had to go and check my update number, which is 1896 too. It's interesting about the 5G thing, as some areas of Milton Keynes have it and I wonder if it pops up when I go into those places.

I've not noticed any lag issues, but the really annoying message that kept popping up saying "Changing your vehicle settings" has gone. The only other thing I've noticed is that the word "Clima" has appeared in the top centre of the display where the A/C switch was!
