simoniz products

people i got some simoniz cleaning products for a christmas present i havent used this make before i was wondering if any of you fellow scn'ers have and i want to know if its any good

• wash and wax
• fruits and forest dashboard shine
• back to black
• foam action upholstery cleaner

all in a 150ml bottles

those are what came in its box. if none of you have used these products i will trial them and report back on them

LOL you probably got the same kit I got, came in a box all 4 bottles the same size, I was wondering the same thing about it, seems to be good stuff and it smells nice ive just never heard of it

blue box? ive never heard of it till now but someone must have used it, ive not even opened the bottles or cans yet

Yup blue box. Im going to try it out, just waiting for this cold weather and snow lot to magically disappear, my car looks as though it erupted from a coal mine at the moment...

I got a lot coming up in the next 2 weeks wont have time, got new years to get through about 5 parties to attend and then getting married on the 6th of January then going away for a week, itll be the beginning of February before I get to use it, and we are going away in my Leon

Ah that makes sense as the person that got it for me works at a Halfords, however to be fair if I had saw it at that price I probably would have given it a go, whats the worse that can happen, it not get stains out of the seats?

well thats it theres no harm in trying it, if its not a good job you just do it again with better stuff or mix it with better stuff just to use it up or just bin it at £3 not a big loss to either party

Nope, worth trying!

Simoniz isn't too bad. Its not in the same league as Meguairs and Autoglym, but it works

Ive always been a fan of Meguiars but havent been able to afford it lateley...

Simoniz is owned by the same company that makes half of the cleaning gear you see on the high street.

They are products designed to do specific jobs but compromised by price unfortunately. they will perform but not at the same level as professional products.

Saying that, they are designed for the high street so do what they say on the tin and do it well.

Depends what you expect from a product to be honest. I personally wouldnt use the cockpit shine or back to black as they leave a greasy film behind which i hate. the wash n wax will be full of bulking agents and mostly water but will clean the car reaonably well. The foam cleaner should be able to remove light soiling but i wouldnt expect it to do much more than that.

At the end of the day they were gifts so use them as a freebie and dont expect too much from them.

I understand what you are saying, dont think ill use the dash cleaner but might have a go with the back to black

Back to Black will be ok for the bumper trim and tyres but make sure you go over the parts to cover with it with an old cloth to take the residue off. It will run if you dont as its liquid rather than gel based.

I used the wash and wax today, didnt make very many sudds in the bucket but left a nice shine on my car

Have fun. I found a nasty spot on the roof of the car after washing all the road flilth off..posted up a thread about it
