Hi All

This is my first time opening a new thread.:)

My flywheel is on its way out very soon. I can hear the constant rattle and the odd judders which are getting worse by the day.

I have gone though some old threads and people have discussed this in some detail. I am currently down to 2 options and can't decide the best way forward.

1. Replace with Valeo conversion kit (which has long travel damper tech to act the same as DMF and this SMF has got good reviews compared with other SMFs) Price £300 for parts with £140 labour. Total £440

2. Replace with Sach or LUK DMF kit (Looking on ebay I found Sach at £300 item:370907576330 and LUK at £385 item:360750927865) So would be £85 more for the LUK.

Considering that i may keep the car for another 50 - 60-k miles and that I might get it remapped from 140 to 170 what would be your thoughts? and whats the best option.

SMF or DMF, If DMF which one?

Thanks

I have a 2007 Leon Cupra and shortly after I got it remapped (Revo stage 1), it started slipping. To avoid any further DMF issues I went for the Loba single mass flywheel and Sachs clutch. When we removed the OEM flywheel it actually fell apart.

The clutch pedal is slightly stiffer than standard but engagement is just as smooth as standard. The only difference now is that there is a slight chatter from the clutch when idling in neutral (totally normal for this kit), other than that, there are no downsides from my point of view plus the worry of a failed DMF has now been eliminated.

Thanks for the reassurance Gordie.

LUK DMF.

Petrol or derv?

Its a Diesel 2.0 TDI 140 HP

Why would you recommend the LUK DMF, Any reason or just a better make?

Thanks

Bump.

I've just had Stage 1 remap done on the car. Its now 170hp ish not Dyno tested though.

Just having second thoughts really if i should go for the SMF or not. Or should i go for a slightly better performance clutch

Can anyone recommend some good performance clutches.

Thanks
