Snapped/Spinning glow plug - losing compression

Hi,

I took my car to a garage to get the glowplugs changed and they managed to snap glowplug 3 so the lower part is stuck in the head and the upper part just spins freely! I would not be too concerned because it starts OK on 3 plugs in the cold weather but it is losing compession! I can hear, feel and smell the gasses coming out from around plug 3!

What can I do to sort this other than remove the head? I can't afford to do that right now. Will the lack of compression on that cylinder cause problems? It is running fine....

Please help!

They claimed it was already snapped... it's an old car and I don't think I would have a leg to stand on would I?
